2nd Project Meeting of the Consortium

Barcelona, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, October 29-31, 2008

On the 1st day of the meeting, the participating partners discussed the model of ICT-enabled knowledge sharing network. A general overview of the e-KNOWNET platform was presented. The preliminary results of the interviews, which were conducted in the framework of Users Requirements Analysis (WP6), were also presented. A cooperative study in the field of ICT - enabled diffusion of scientific knowledge in Europe (WP2), followed the conversation.

On the 2nd day of the meeting, participants discussed the subject of awareness- raising and exploitation activities in the frame of e-Knownet project (WP5). Two pilot examples, which were produced as pilot dissemination material for the IUPAC Symposium on Photochemistry, were reviewed, as well. For more information on the examples presented, click here

A very interesting presentation took place by Dr. Paola Rodari, invited expert. She presented her expertise in the field of educational services and of science centres. Specifically, she presented results and experiences gathered by working on and evaluating the diffusion of scientific research as a result of the interaction with research centres and universities. Thereafter, a conversation on the preparation and design of educational products in the field of physical chemistry took place. To see the key stages of WP4 for the production process along with the relevant partners involved in each step, click here

The discussion session was completed with a presentation of the evaluation methodology plan and the project management activities.

On the 3rd day of the meeting, partners took part in a study visit to Cosmocaixa Science Museum. The presentation of Mr. Jorge Wagensberg, Director of Cosmocaixa, focused on the interaction with the different publics (in particular with schools and students) on one side and the interaction between the museum and scientists, science centers and scientific experts on the other.
